Deitchman is married with one child. He enjoys reading, movies, and is an avid baseball and softball fan. In addition to her clinical practice, she is currently employed and tenured as Professor of Psychology at Queens University of Charlotte. This program teaches both rising and current college freshmen a variety of skills necessary to facilitate their adjustment to university life. Upon graduation, she was accepted at the University of Tennessee to pursue her Ph. She completed her clinical internship at Yale University School of Medicine. She also received a postdoctoral fellowship with Yale University Health Services providing individual, couples, and group therapy and assessment to the Yale University academic community.
